I finally found some time on this busy vacation to watch "A Promisse to Keep." The film is so lovely and sad (I cried my eyes out)..but I truly recommend, is a further evidence of the great actress who Dana is. Jane is another strong woman... the sacrifices she made to keep the family together, even without money to keep them was sad, especially when she lets they take the baby away but in the end, with her birthday surprise party has no way to not thinking, "worth it." And all of them together on the beach, as in the first scene was the best way to finish.

@Amy
amazing how much we depend on internet now and how lost we are when we don't have it. what did we ever do when it didn't exist?
Yes, I totally agree with you. Internet has becoming kind of a drug: you feel completely helpless when you can't use it for some time.One the one hand it's quite frightening how dependent we are on it...but on the other hand the internet provides also many good opportunities....for example to meet lovely people from around the whole globe who come together here on Reg's wonderful site to share their thoughts about Dana. Some years ago, in pre-internet times, I would have never imagined to be able to talk to nice people who live on the other side of the world - just with one mouse click:-)
@Val
Mighty, dandy characters Ms Delany has givin us fans to watch and watch again.
Val, you're right. Everyone here has talked about his or her favorite character. But in summary you can say: each of Dana's roles is interesting and she brings them perfectly to life. Due to her brilliant acting we feel a deep connection with these characters. When they're in an awful situation we want to comfort them. When they are happy we share their joy and laughter. And this is Dana's unique gift: to cause these feelings in the audience

I have loved reading everybody's fave roles Dana has performed, but aside from the obvious ones of Colleen McMurphy and Katherine Mayfair, I loved her role in Route 30. I don't know what it is about the particular role, and the movie as a whole, but it is one of my faves.
So, thanks for that one, Ms. Delany...maybe it is that dance you do in the film?
