This article is interesting.
I think if there was always a thought of adding a lesbian relationship to DH, they wanted to avoid having one of the main cast (Marcia, Teri, Eva, Felicity) "cross over".
Katherine's great at being a "wild card", so having her do this was almost a no-brainer. And having Robin there as another lost soul works perfectly.
Gay relationships on a major network are nothing new (Brothers & Sisters, Buffy, DeGrassi). And Dana has always been supportive of LGBT rights, and has often done controversial roles. So this shouldn't be a huge shock to anyone.
I remember when Portia DeRossi was offended by a lesbian kiss on Ally, because she felt that instance trivialized same sex relationships. I have faith Dana would not be doing this if titillation and sensationalism were all this was about. This should be really interesting.
As I always say:
It's never boring being a Dana fan.

What an incredible actress! The DH scene where you broke down in the hospital was the best acting I've seen on the show.
Also, you are just GORGEOUS. When are you going to grace us with a movie or two? :)

Let's have a discussion. What's your favorite Katherine Mayfair moment done by Dana?
Oh, what a difficult question!I love all of Dana's scenes :-)If I had to choose some that I liked most, I would say:
- "The cupboard scene": when Katherine realizes during the tornado that Adam actually did have an affair. This was the first time I saw Dana.
- The "dough-scene": when Katherine is talking to her ex-husband while preparing a dough...wow, it still gives me the creeps:-)
- The "sweet and sour-scene": Bree trying to get Katherine's lemon meringue pie recipe...always and again sooo incredibly brilliant acting of both Dana and Marcia Cross! I just love that scene, their verbal battle...and Katherine smashing the door at the end:-))
- Katherine's look when Lee+his partner tell her they know that the Mayfairs had to move to Wisteria Lane due to Adam's affair.OMG, this is a look that can kill!
- a less spectacular, but very sweet scene: when Katherine starts to help Bree dealing with her alcohol problem...it was wonderful to see the softer side of their friendship.
Today I received the audio book of "Life on the refrigerator door". I can't believe I haven't found it earlier...I just tripped over it on amazon some days ago. I'm already very curious to listen to it. We already discussed many time on the forum what a huge talent Dana has in expressing the emotions of her character on her face. So I guess it will be an interesting experience to only listen to her voice now:-)

Check out EW's review on Dana's storyline:
"I'd venture as far as saying that her story line was the real heart of this episode. Even though it was overshadowed by the pop and sizzle of a neighborhood-wrecking disaster, I actually got a little bit misty for her, especially when..."

Wow...Dana rocked yesterday's episode, and last week's episode.
It's definitely an Emmy-worthy performance. She's been able to seamlessly play her as someone the audience loves to hate and as someone the audience roots for, which is no easy feat. I can't wait for what she's brings to the character of Katherine in January.

My Favorite Katherine Mayfair moment, was probably the scenes from Season 4 with her ex-husband and her whole secret. That season was the best. I also really liked this past episode with the mental breakdown, And i've always loved that scene with Katherine and little MJ, and he throws the bowling ball on her foot, it makes me laugh everytime!
Is there anything Dana can't do?? I think we need to see her play like a serial killer now, I don't think we've seen that yet! haha
